The Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts in Washington, DC announced on 18th of June, four days before George Carlin's death, that the great comedian would be honoured in 2008 with Mark Twain Prize for American Humour. But George Carlin died in Santa Monica, on 22nd of June 2008, of heart failure and never got to receive his prize.
