Eddie Izzard joined over 20,000 people who attended the "Love Music! Hate Racism!" 2009 Festival at the Britannia Stadium on May, the 30th and the comedian urged the British people to boycott the BNP on the European Parliamentary Elections. Eddie Izzard stated that "The BNP talk about racial purity, a concept they learned from Hitler" and that the British National Party is a "racist party" and if British people believe in their country values, they will reject racism and a "politic of hate".

The movie starring Tom Cruise as the leader of an organisation that plot to assassinate Hitler is not exactly the movie you would expect to see Eddie Izzard in.
