The British comedian Eddie Izzard was invited to perform in South Africa, to help raise funds for Nelson Mandela's charities. The event is organized by 46664 and Real Concerts and Eddie Izzard's stand up comedy shows will be performed on six consecutive nights, in three towns, between 2 - 7 February 2010.

Eddie Izzard's live performance will take place on 2 and 3 February 2010 at The Johannesburg Theatre - The Mandela Theatre, in Johannesburg; on 4 and 5 February at the ICC Auditorium 1, in Cape Town, 6 February in Hall 1 AB, at Durban ICC and on 7 February 2010 at 7pm at The Mandela Theatre - The Johannesburg Theatre in Johannesburg.

On the 11th of February 2010 is celebrated the 20th anniversary of Nelson Mandela's liberation after 27 years of incarceration, a moment highly significant for South Africa's freedom and liberty to host these kind of cultural and entertaining events.

"It is because of this iconic world leader that I have the privilege of performing my show to a live audience in what is now a free country and at a very significant time in the country's history.” stated Eddie Izzard.

Currently, Eddie Izzard's Big Intimacy Tour carries on in USA after the Madison Square Garden performace on January 16, after which the comedian posted on his Twitter account "Last night's gig at Madison Square Garden was a great experience for me and I hope you enjoyed it too. Thanks for having me New York!". With the January 16th stand up comedy performance, Eddie Izzard became the fourth comedian ever to play New York's Madison Square Garden.
